Purpose-Led Publishing
Purpose-Led Publishing brings together APS, AIP Publishing, and IOP Publishing to demonstrate the importance, community value, and quality of not-for-profit academic publishing. Together, the coalition members are defining a set of industry standards that underpin high-quality, ethical scholarly communications.
Members of Purpose-Led Publishing pledge to always:
- Invest 100% of their funds back into science.
- Publish only the content that genuinely adds to scientific knowledge.
- Ensure publishing terms are reasonable.
- Put research integrity ahead of profit.
- Admit errors and set them right.
While never:
- Relinquishing their not-for-profit status.
- Having shareholders for whom they put profit above purpose.
