    Winter Parts (they/it) is a fifth year astronomy graduate student at Penn State University, studying exoplanets and the Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence (SETI). They serve on their department’s Climate and Diversity Committee and the department’s Toward a More Inclusive Astronomy discussion group. Outside its department, Winter is a member of the APS Gender Inclusive Physics Community Advisory Board and an advocate for trans rights, particularly in sports. For fun, Winter likes to run, listen to music, play the saxophone, and study languages.
