Saptaparna Bhattacharya (she/her) is an assistant professor at Southern Methodist University. Her research interests lie in multiboson physics at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN.

    Saptaparna Bhattacharya (she/her) is an assistant professor at Southern Methodist University. She received her doctoral degree in May 2016 from Brown University. She was awarded the LHC Physics Center Distinguished Researcher Award at Fermilab two years in a row from 2019-2020. Her research interests lie in multiboson physics at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN. Bhattacharya was the convener of the event generator studies group in the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment and in 2024 received a CMS Award in recognition of her leadership. She was an elected member of the Fermilab Users Executive committee and served as its chair in 2019-2020. In 2022, she delivered a set of eight public lectures as the inaugural Sievert Prize winner at Northwestern University. Since 2018, she has traveled to Washington, D.C., on several occasions to talk about the importance of funding research in fundamental science.
