Lucian Walkowicz

Lucian Walkowicz, Ph.D., (they/them) is an astronomer, movement artist, and educator based in Chicago. An organizer both within and outside STEM, they work towards social justice in the sciences and beyond, and use popular communication to foster empowered publics. Over their 20+ years in astronomy, Walkowicz has been part of the Hubble Space Telescope, Sloan Digital Sky Survey, NASA's Kepler Mission, and the Vera C. Rubin Observatory. They founded Not Not Rocket Science in 2022, providing professional development services including speaker training, help with career transitions, scientific storytelling, education consulting, support with goals and accountability, writing support, and EFL tutoring.
