Kirsten McMichael, Ph.D., (she/her) is a postdoc at Carnegie Mellon University and will be joining the physics faculty at Washington and Jefferson College in the fall of 2024. She obtained her Ph.D. in physics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where her dissertation work focused on both the technical side of physics with an emphasis on experimental neutrino physics with the nEXO Collaboration and the human side, where she worked on the integration of DEI initiatives into physics. As a graduate student, she served as co-chair of the nEXO DEI Committee and is now continuing her DEI work as co-PI on a DOE RENEW grant centered on recruitment and retention in the nuclear and particle physics communities.
