Frank Isakson Prize for Optical Effects in Solids

Help us endow the Frank Isakson Prize

For decades, the Frank Isakson Prize has recognized exceptional research in optical effects in solids. With its previous corporate sponsorship now ended, we are relying on community support to permanently endow this vital recognition.

Double your impact before December 31, 2026

DCMP and an anonymous donor have pledged up to $75,000 in matching funds to help us build a permanent endowment.

  • To save this as a prize: We need to raise $75,000 from the community. Paired with the match, this creates a $150,000 endowment to permanently secure the prize at its current stipend level.
  • To save this as an award: We must raise a minimum of $25,000 from the community. This will permanently endow the recognition, but with a reduced stipend for recipients.

If we do not reach the $25,000 minimum, the long-term future of the Isakson recognition remains uncertain.

Please make your gift today to preserve this longstanding tradition and replace our reliance on temporary reserves with a permanent, fully-funded endowment.

Donors like you have helped us to raise $10,650 of our $75,000 goal.
