Benefits of joining JNIPER

Joining the JNIPER Community allows you to learn effective ways to engage with the public on physics topics and to assess and advocate for your informal physics education work. In addition, JNIPER members can:

  • Play a vital role in shaping public engagement in physics
  • Participate in monthly virtual coffee hours
  • Access a Slack space to share resources and ideas and discuss informal physics education practice
  • Attend special sessions at APS events, meetings, and conferences.

As the community grows and matures, we will develop expanded learning and networking opportunities, such as the JNIPER academy, mentoring program, and workshops.

Coffee hours

The JNIPER coffee hours are monthly, virtual events to discuss topics such as online citizen science projects, university science outreach programs, advocating for public engagement, and more.
