APS Innovation and the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation Partnerships

In partnership with the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, Experimental Physics Investigators Initiative (EPI) is bringing together tenured, mid-career experimental physicists  who are accomplished leaders in their field to discover new ideas and collaborations in experimental physics with grants of $1,250,000 over five years. EPI supports inclusive research groups that strive to promote equity in the community. Researchers with high-risk, high-reward projects seeking to tackle their most creative, innovative research ideas may submit pre-proposals in fall 2023.

APS-Simons Travel & Professional Development Awards

This program is designed to help to address a lack of travel support and professional development funding to faculty affected by opportunity inequities. By offering grants of up to $8,400 to faculty members facing limited access to travel and professional development support, this initiative recognizes the importance of collaboration and meeting participation for scientific progress and essential professional development. The program seeks to create a more equitable and inclusive environment by filling the gap in resources and opportunities for those affected by existing inequities in academia.
