Physicists To-Go pairs science professionals with educators teaching K-12. Physicists can share their knowledge and passion for science with the next generation, and teachers can show their students the many discoveries and innovations brought to us by physics. Applications are now closed.
As part of Physicists To-Go, Quantum To-Go matches quantum professionals with all levels of educators seeking to show their students the many career opportunities in quantum science and technology. Applications for educators and scientists to participate open in the spring.
Participating in Physics To-Go and Quantum To-Go introduces your students to many opportunities they can pursue in physics. Many students only have a vague sense of what physicists do or who can be a physicist, but a background in physics can open up careers in academia, research, business, journalism and so much more.
Physicists from many backgrounds and walks of life would be delighted to show your students that anyone can be a physicist. Scientists in our program virtually visit your class to share their curiosity about the natural world and their passion for science with your students.
Through Physicists To-Go, educators at all levels, from K-12, are eligible for classroom visits. Applications to participate in Physicists To-Go are are now closed. Applications for Quantum To-Go, which is also open to two- and four-year college educators as well as K-12 educators, will open in the spring.
Share your love of physics with the next generation and inspire them to explore science. As part of Physicists To-Go, you will be matched with a classroom based on your interests and which education levels you would like to speak to.
After you are matched with a classroom, before you visit, you will be asked to watch a 30 minute communication training session. APS will also provide a customizable slide deck for you to use during the visit.
Applications to participate in Physicists To-Go are now closed. Applications for Quantum To-Go open in the spring.
To show K-12 students the kinds of work physicists do, APS encourages national labs to host in-person tours for students. Give students the opportunity to take a field trip and see where many scientists work.
Middle and high school teachers seeking to expose their students to the dynamic innovations taking place at national labs may request a field trip. National labs open to arranging field trips are located at:

Quantum To-Go is a collaboration between APS and National Q-12 Education Partnership. National Q-12 Education Partnership brings together the federal government, industry, professional societies and the education community to prepare diverse students for the quantum workforce.
APS is grateful to the Eucalyptus Foundation for supporting Physicists To-Go. A small family foundation, the Eucalyptus Foundation makes grants for K-12 education, the arts, music, human rights and global security.
