APS launched Physics to help physicists and physics students learn about exciting new developments outside of their own subfields. Physics highlights exceptional papers from the Physical Review journals through expert commentaries written by active researchers.

Physics Contents

Physics features three kinds of articles:

Viewpoints
Essays of approximately 1000–1500 words that focus on a single Physical Review paper or PRL letter and put this work into broader context.

Trends
Concise review articles (3000–4000 words in length) that survey a particular area and look for interesting developments in that field.

Synopses
Staff-written distillations (200 words) of interesting and important papers each week.

Current Highlights in Physics

• Viewpoint: New Particle Hints at Four-Quark Matter
• Focus: Animal Communication Could Support Efficient Foraging
• Synopsis: Wall Filters out the Sound You Want to Hear
