Future of Physics Days

APS Meeting Events for Undergraduate Students

Future of Physics Days (FPD) events help undergraduate students get the most out of APS March and April meetings through research presentations, interactive workshops, professional development activities, and career discovery. The Graduate Fair also offers opportunities for recruiters from graduate schools to showcase the benefits of their programs at March Meeting and April Meeting.

At FPD, you can advance your career by:

  • Presenting your research at undergraduate only sessions
  • Gaining valuable feedback on your presentation from trained mentors
  • Receiving a certificate of presentation that you can add to your CV or resume
  • Potentially winning a prize as a top presenter

You’ll also be able to:

  • Network with physicists from academia and industry
  • Explore different areas of physics to see what you are interested in
  • Learn about a diverse range of career options
  • Get a free laptop sleeve!

All FPD events are free to attend when you register for the March or April meeting.

Reasons to Attend FPD

Why participate in FPD? Here is what a recent student attendee said about the conference:

"I want to thank the team for the Future of Physics Days Travel Grant that made it possible for me to attend the event...The meeting was an amazing and constructive experience for me. The speeches, workshops, and posters were incredibly insightful, and I was able to network with fellow researchers and exchange ideas. I even found a potential future collaborator. The event exceeded my expectations and profoundly impacted my professional development." - Giuliano G. Porciúncula - Physics Undergraduate at Física de Materiais, Universidade de Pernambuco
