We are proud to announce that the American Physical Society has established a new section that will serve the District of Columbia, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. The new Mid-Atlantic Section (M-AS) is a unit of the APS with the goal to strengthen the physics community in its region and to aid APS in its mission to advance and diffuse the knowledge of physics at the regional level.

Jeff Carrol of the Army Research Lab in Adelphi, MD has been elected as our incoming vice-chair, Tomek Kott of Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab in Laurel, MD is our incoming member-at-large, and Diana Knieste of the University of Delaware is our incoming student member. Congratulations to the winners of our recent election.
