The American Physical Society Topical Group on Magnetism and its Applications, or GMAG, represents one of the fastest-growing scientific sectors of the APS.
Membership in GMAG — an annual investment of only $10 for APS members — not only helps you keep up with the fast-paced field of Magnetism but also provides the following features:
GMAG Student Travel Award
To increase student participation and involvement in activities essential to GMAG and the APS as a whole, GMAG usually sponsors up to ten Student Travel Awards for the March Meeting. Because the 2021 March Meeting will be held entirely online this year’s awards will be limited to the reimbursement of the student registration fee. To be eligible, students must register and participate the March Meeting, and should submit an application, which can be downloaded from the GMAG website. Applications should be submitted by email to Marcelo Jaime (email@example.com) by November 25, 2020. Please write “GMAG Student Travel Award” in the subject line of the email.
2020 Election Results
Please join us in congratulating the new members of the GMAG Executive Committee: Vice Chair Marcelo Jaime, Secretary/Treasurer Jaime Fernandez-Baca, and Members-at-Large Christianne Beekman and Sarah Watzman.
Nominees and award and office holders are expected to meet standards of professional conduct and integrity as described in the APS Ethics Guidelines. Violations of these standards may disqualify people from consideration or lead to revocation of honors or removal from office.
