The objective of GERA shall be to promote communication relevant to the physics involved in humankind's safe generation, transmission, storage, and efficient use of energy with as small an impact on the Earth's environment and resources as feasible. The GERA fosters the education and networking of scientists and engineers active in these fields and the next generations of researchers and educators.
The 2020 GERA Energy Research Workshop, sponsored by GERA and FECS, will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2020 just before the start of the APS March Meeting 2020 in Denver, CO. The workshop consists of a series of talks by leading experts in the field, informal discussions during lunch and coffee breaks, and a panel discussion.
Nominees and award and office holders are expected to meet standards of professional conduct and integrity as described in the APS Ethics Guidelines. Violations of these standards may disqualify people from consideration or lead to revocation of honors or removal from office.
