Student Travel Grant Program

Through this program, DLS provides partial funding (up to $500/grant) for a limited number of graduate students to attend and participate in our two major meetings, CLEO in the spring and Frontiers In Optics/Laser Science in the fall, as well as the APS March Meeting. To be eligible, the student must be a member of APS-DLS and must be the presenting author on an accepted oral or poster presentation. Normally, the student’s faculty mentor must also be a DLS member. Students who have previously received a travel grant are not eligible for a second travel grant.

The DLS has increased its participation in the APS March Meeting this year, offering contributed talk sorting categories for the first time. DLS will sponsor or co-sponsor two contributed sessions, and one invited session entitled Optical Frequency Comb Spectroscopy. The deadline for student travel grant applications to the APS March Meeting is February 8th, 2019. To apply, submit the application form format_pdf and the faculty mentor recommendation form format_pdf, along with proof that the paper has been accepted to the conference, to the APS-DLS Secretary-Treasurer (Rohit Prasankumar,
