Student Travel Grant Program

Through this program, DLS provides partial funding (up to $500/grant) for a limited number of graduate students to attend and participate in our two major meetings, CLEO in the spring and Frontiers In Optics/Laser Science in the fall, as well as the APS March Meeting. To be eligible, the student must be a member of APS-DLS and must be the presenting author on an accepted oral or poster presentation. Normally, the student’s faculty mentor must also be a DLS member. Students who have previously received a travel grant are not eligible for a second travel grant.

We are now accepting applications for Student Travel Grants to assist with travel costs to FiO/LS in Washington, DC, September 15-19, 2019. The deadline for receipt of complete applications is August 19, 2019, and successful applicants will be informed by August 26th. To apply, submit the application form format_pdf and the faculty mentor recommendation form format_pdf, along with proof that the paper has been accepted to the conference, to the APS-DLS Secretary-Treasurer (Rohit Prasankumar,
