I have always known that I wanted to pursue a theoretical research career because of my desire to scrutinize nature at its most fundamental levels. In the case of the universe we live in, this particular scrutiny is best fulfilled, for me, with deep understanding of quantum behavior. Fortunately, quantum physics has far-reaching implications not only for the physical sciences, but computer science (by means of quantum computing), and philosophy with its impact on the philosophy of science and metaphysics. I feel comfortable pursuing this research because computing and philosophy are two core interests almost as intense as that of my passion for physics. The mere fact that there is more to know about the quantum world propels me; I hope to contribute greatly to the body of knowledge that encompasses theoretical physics.
