Wesley Runnels

My name is Wesley Runnels, and I am from Desoto, Texas. I’ve always been fascinated with nature, and read books on topics like the human body, dinosaurs, and the solar system as a young child. Over the years, I’ve grown to love physics more and more, and while I think biology and chemistry are fascinating, the purity and mathematical nature of physics appeal to me very strongly. While I don’t know what specific field of physics I will be pursuing, I am interested in astrophysics, quantum physics, nuclear physics, cosmology – just about anything! I will begin pursuing a double major in physics and mathematics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) this fall.
