Columbia University in the City of New York

My name is Erin Elise Flowers and I am from Rochester Hills, Michigan. As a young child, I grew up in the Florida Everglades where we had a spectacular view of the night sky, thus I attribute my interest in astronomy to the environment I grew up in. I knew that I wanted to study physics after having a fantastic and enthusiastic physics teacher throughout high school that made the subject fun. Currently, I attend Columbia University where I plan to major in either Physics or Astrophysics. Even though the concepts can be difficult, solving a problem is so rewarding! I love how we can use physics to unravel the secrets of the universe, and I look forward to continuing this work in the future.
