Alaric Bryant
Duke University

Alaric Avery Bryant is a sophomore at Duke University. He is the son of Alfred Bryant, Jr. and Tabitha Bryant and has one brother, Aidan Bryant. His hobbies include basketball, fishing and collecting autographed sports cards. He is an enrolled member of the Lumbee American Indian tribe in North Carolina. Alaric believes math and science complement each other. During his freshman year he took two Calculus courses, one Physics course and a course in Oceanography. His experience in these courses increased his interest in the study of physics as he came to better understand the interplay between science and math. Even his Oceanography professor taught the physics behind the tides, and how the tidal cycle depends on the gravitational forces between the ocean and the moon.
