APS Advocacy Efforts: International Scientists & Collaborations

Scientific progress is best achieved when there is an open exchange of information among scientists and students. To that end, APS remains committed to maintaining the openness of global science by advocating for US policies that sustain and promote scientific mobility. To advance these policies, APS leadership has met directly with the key staff in the White House, State Department, National Science Foundation, Department of Energy, Department of Defense, and Department of Commerce. The APS Office of External Affairs has partnered with APS members to advocate for openness and scientific mobility in more than 200 meetings with Congressional staff across more than 30 states in the US.
