Tiarnan Doherty
University of Cambridge

Citation:

"For characterizing nanostructure and understanding its influence on phase stability and performance in Halide perovskites."

Background:

Tiarnan graduated from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA, USA with a Bachelor of Arts in Physics. He subsequently obtained a Masters in Materials Science and Engineering at University College Dublin, Ireland and a PhD in Physics from the Cavendish Laboratory at the University of Cambridge, UK. Tiarnan is currently a Schmidt Science Fellow and Oppenheimer Research Fellow at the University of Cambridge and a Fellow of Murray Edwards College, Cambridge. Tiarnan’s PhD involved understanding the fundamental properties of metal halide perovskite semiconductors, a new material for inexpensive, scalable, and efficient renewable energy technologies. His recent work includes understanding how subtle variations in nanostructure can impact performance and operational stability in halide perovskite based solar cells.
