This May, two news stories about the helium shortage and the resulting closure of 40 Party City stores appeared online. Mark Elsesser, Associate Director of Government Affairs with the American Physical Society, contributed to these articles, lending his knowledge as a policy expert to their coverage.
“When it comes to helium, we’re at a tipping point,” said Elsesser. “Party City has made our job a little bit easier when it comes to getting helium on people’s radar. Helium is something we need to address.”
