Water vapor was condensed on thin film of silicone oils of different viscosities and the condensation pattern was subsequently observed under an optical microscope. Increasing viscosity results in an increased drainage rate, and for an oil viscosity of 1000 centistokes a self-assembled honeycomb structure emerges over time.
