Simulating Organic Solar Cells

Large-scale computer simulations of the thermal annealing of the active layer of an organic solar cell were performed in the Oak Ridge Leadership Computing Facility’s (OLCF) Titan Supercomputer. The image shows a simulation of a bulk hetero-junction in an organic solar cell where the polymer (white) and fullerene (blue) phase segregates.
