Program Changes Board

Last minute program changes are displayed on the Program Changes Board, located near the APS Village. If you’re chairing a session, pleases stop by to check if there are any late changes to your session. You can also email changes to abs-help@aps.org.

Parents' Quiet Room

APS has designated a room for quiet time and relaxation available to parents who bring young children to the meeting. It is not a playroom. The room is fitted with comfortable furniture and water. Nursing facilities are available in the First Aid Station located outside Petree Hall.

Information Booth

Feel free to stop by to ask general questions about the meeting facilities or activities. You can also inquire about last minute program changes.

Food Service

Concession stands are available throughout the convention center, including the Galaxy Court, located in the West Lobby and the Compass Cafe in the South Hall. Concessions will also be available Tuesday through Thursday of in West Hall A.

ATM

For your convenience, several ATMs are located throughout the convention center.

Coffee Breaks

APS is pleased to offer a complimentary coffee break to attendees. Coffee, decaffeinated coffee, and hot tea will be available in several locations near the meeting rooms on throughout the convention center, and near the APS Village.

Audiovisual

All rooms will be equipped with an LCD projector, screen, lavaliere microphone, and pointer. If you require additional equipment, it can be rented through the official APS AV vendor, Freeman AV. 

NOTE: The cost of additional equipment must be covered by the speaker. You are not allowed to bring/use your own projectors at the meeting.

Physical Review Journals Booth
Editors of the Physical Review journals and members of the editorial and marketing staff will be on hand in the APS Village and in the exhibit hall to answer any questions about the Physical Review journal collection.

Feel free to stop by to ask general questions about the meeting facilities or activities. You can also inquire about last minute program changes.

Contact Congress
Make your voice heard in Washington and help influence the funding levels for basic research by sending a letter to your Congressional delegation. APS staff will follow up each letter with a call or visit to Congressional staff.

APS Programs
APS develops and implements a range of programs that improve physics education, impact policy makers, increase diversity, inform the public, and reach out to physicsists around the world.

Shuttle Buses
APS provides complimentary bus service between the hotels listed here and the convention center. Service begins on Sunday, March 4 at 1:30 p.m. and continues until the end of the meeting on Friday, March 9.

Airport Shuttle Bus: Los Angeles Convention Center to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)
Attendees can purchase airport shuttle tickets for $10 at the registration desk. Schedule and departure locations are available at the meeting information desk, registration desk, and in the mobile app.

First Aid
A first aid station will be available at the convention center. Location and hours TBD. In case of an emergency, please contact an APS employee immediately.

Gender-Neutral Bathroom
In an effort to make the meeting all-inclusive, a gender-neutral bathroom will be available in the convention center.

Badge Monitoring
All attendees must register for the meeting and wear their registration badge at all times beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Monday morning. Security personnel or staff may check badges before permitting admission to sessions or the exhibit hall. If your badge has been lost, you may receive one replacement badge free of charge at the registration desk. Additional replacements will cost $10 each.

A dedicated and staffed press room for registered journalists will operate throughout the meeting. Phones, computers, printers, free wireless Internet, and complimentary food service will be available.

The Meetings@APS mobile app allows attendees to view an APS meeting bulletin on any iOS or Android mobile device. If you have previously downloaded an APS Meetings app, please check to make sure the app is "Meetings@APS" by Bravura Technologies.

Once you have downloaded the app, start the app and select the appropriate bulletin from the "Show List". Once selected, the Meetings@APS app will download the entire bulletin into your mobile device. You can browse the sessions, search authors, and get important information about the meeting.

APS TV

APS TV uses video as a platform to engage people in important issues within physics. APS TV will be on screens around the venue, in selected delegate hotels on dedicated TV channels, and available online and on social media platforms.

Partnering again with international film and broadcasting company WebsEdge, APS TV will produce a new daily episode during the meeting featuring conference news and in-depth reports.

Leading up to the meeting, WebsEdge will be reaching out to organizations to discuss the opportunity of producing a film about their work, to be included in the APS TV program.

Only a limited number of organizations will be able to feature in APS TV. If you are interested in learning more about the in-depth reports, please contact: Sally Nelson at sally@websedge.com.

Charging Stations
APS will offer complimentary, secure charging stations for your mobile devices. Look for them throughout the convention center.

Internet Access
APS sponsors free wi-fi service in designated “hot spots” and the exhibit hall. Wi-fi service is not available in meeting rooms.
