Teaching Technical Feasibility with Introductory Physics: The Hyperloop Module

In this interactive webinar, Randy Jones of Loyola University Maryland presents an introductory physics module centered on Elon Musk's Hyperloop concept. In this approach, students explore technical feasibility, human desirability and financial viability, using a newly-acquired understanding of physics principles.

This is one of several approaches developed at LUM which are intrinsically open-ended, leading to increased comfort with ambiguity while leveraging students' creativity and building an entrepreneurial mindset.

It was developed as a part of the APS PIPELINE project, a collaborative project to develop curricula that teach physics innovation and entrepreneurship (PIE).

Crystal Bailey, Head of Career Programs at APS, moderates the discussion.
