(We solicit your contributions for this section)PUMAS web site
The Practical Uses of Math And Science (PUMAS) Web Site, the On-Line Journal of Math and Science Examples for Pre-College Education. Scientists are invited to help k-12 teachers enrich their presentation of math and science topics, by contributing one-page examples based on their interests and experience. All examples are peer-reviewed. We are currently collecting examples aned anticipate opening the site to general users in Spring or Summer, 1997. K-12 teachers and scientists are also needed now to serve as PUMAS reviewers. The volunteer/update form can be found from the help page of the web site. For additional information, contact ralph.kahn@jpl.nasa.gov.
RISE website
[Resources for Involving Scientists in Education] Since we wrote about this project in November 1994 issue of the newsletter, they have developed a helpful web site. It provides a lot of material for scientists interested in becoming involved with K-12 science education.
