Information about the Excellence in Physics Education Award
The Excellence in Physics Education Award recognizes and honors a team or group of individuals (such as a collaboration), or exceptionally a single individual, who has exhibited a sustained commitment to excellence in physics education. Such a commitment may be evidenced by, but not necessarily restricted to, such accomplishments as:
- Outreach programs
- A specific program or project that has had a major ongoing influence on physics education at the national level
- Outstanding teacher enhancement or teacher preparation programs over a number of years
- Long-lasting professional service related to physics education that has had a demonstrated positive impact
The Fundraising Campaign and Donations
We are pleased to recognize and thank the Excellence in Physics Education Award Donors. Contributions of $100 or more to this Campaign provided donors with an opportunity to honor a teacher or mentor who had been influential in their professional training. A letter of recognition was sent to each honoree. Teachers who have been honored are listed below.
If you intended to make a gift to this Campaign, it is not too late! Additional donations are welcome and will be used to increase the endowment level, which will improve the financial stability of the award fund and possibly increase the monetary award in the future.
