New Laser Scientists Conference

The DLS sponsored the 5th New Laser Scientist Conference (NLSC), a 1½ day mini-conference for new faculty and scientists doing laser related research, in conjunction with the October, 2008 FiO/LS meeting of the OSA/DLS in Rochester, NY. The NLSC helps to establish a peer group for new laser scientists in the DLS and includes roundtable discussions as well as interactions with funding program managers. This conference is designed to benefit new faculty and scientists who are within a few years of their first permanent appointment. NLSC-5 was coordinated by Mike Chapman and Steve Cundiff.

The 6th NLSC will be coordinated by Steve Cundiff. It will take place in conjunction with the 2010 FiO/LS meeting in Rochester NY. For more information please contact: Steve Cundiff at cundiffs@jila.colorado.edu or at JILA, University of Colorado, Boulder, CO 80309-0440.
