Iranian physicist Omid Kokabee has been imprisoned in Iran since 2011 — a punishment he attributes to his refusal to work with the Iranian military. Now, the International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran reports that he has been hospitalized with kidney stones. Kokabee was a graduate student at the University of Texas, Austin, when he was arrested at the Tehran airport on his way back to the US after visiting his family. Kokabee has reportedly suffered from an array of health issues in the past years, including from stomach, heart, and dental problems.
