Family members can be added onto a graduate student's health insurance plan but the additional cost must be paid by the student.

Please describe why someone applying to graduate school who is interested in a female-friendly department should choose your department.

Our department offers a collegial and supportive atmosphere for graduate students, and opportunities for professional development in several different fields of physics and astronomy. We have a good track record in mentoring female graduate students and postdocs, many of whom have gone on to faculty positions at research institutions and four-year colleges.
