Please describe why someone applying to graduate school who is interested in a female-friendly department should choose your department.

Going back more than 40 years, our Department has a record of being extraordinarily receptive to female students and faculty. For one period that records were kept, 25% of our Master's degree graduates were women, and women are always well-represented among our undergraduates. The Department participates in the Engineering and Applied Science PhD Program, in which women are a significant fraction. The Department has a highly student-friendly and student-supportive attitude for all students, including those who are women and/or underrepresented minorities.

Has the institution had a Climate for Women in Physics Site Visit or Gender Equity Conversation?
