Century of Physics Timeline

APS Physics timeline to 2000

By the end of the nineteenth century, after more than two thousand years of intellectual struggle that began with the Greek philosophers, physical scientists had reason to believe that they were beginning to understand the universe. But beneath these seemingly sturdy foundations, the roots of future turmoil were quietly gathering strength .  .  .

The APS Century of Physics Timeline charts the developments, experiments, and shocks of twentieth century physics through a set of 11 large (30" x 48") posters.
