Resources Needed

Examples

Success Stories

Human

  • You will need: People to give the tour(s) – if it is just a one time tour of the department, then that can be one person. But if this is more of an open house or a special event, with many audience members, you may need more tour guides, which you will have to recruit

Time

  • How long is the entire open house going to be? (1 hour? Half a day?)
  • How long do you want to spend in each lab?
  • Do certain labs take longer?

Objects

  • Name tags?
  • Cell phones, to communicate between tour guides and lab directors
  • A master list of order of the tours

Demos

  • Will you be doing demos or just showing things off? This will depend on your audience and their time
  • If demos, make sure about Safety

Costs

  • Food? Snacks? Lunch?
  • Name tags?
