So you want to Work with a Museum?
If there is a science museum near your institution, a collaboration between your work and that of the museum can produce a particularly effective and well-received outreach program. The museum or science center does not have to be on your campus, although if you have one already associated with your university, that is a good place to start.
Philip W. Hammer, a former Vice President of The Franklin Institute Science Museum, and David Statman, a physics professor at Allegheny College have had success in establishing partnerships between museums and universities. Below are some of their suggestions.
