Andrew Peterson is a rising senior at Morehouse College where he is majoring in physics and minoring in mathematics and economics. Though originally from Bastrop, Texas, Andrew has largely adopted the Atlanta community as a second home through his numerous and frequent community engagements. He currently serves on a committee of community service at his church and is the president emeritus of the campus chapter of his national organization, the Society of Physics Students (SPS). This past school year he also served as the Associate Zone Councilor for all of the SPS chapters at schools in the states of Florida, Alabama, Georgia, and Puerto Rico. This summer Andrew is interning at the Naval Research Laboratory where he is researching NMR spectroscopy. Despite his background in physics research, he is hoping to transition into domestic and international development, focusing his career towards education. His immediate plan following graduation from Morehouse is to attend graduate school.
