I am from St. Petersburg, Florida, and I will attend the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the fall for Course 8A, Physics with an emphasis on Electrical Engineering.
Physics was just another class to me in high school until I read a few publications by Richard Feynman. His enthusiasm brought the subject to life for me. This allowed me to look at physics as a possible career. The wonderful thing about physics, as it is said about many mathematics-dependent majors, is that it allows you to do anything. This is especially nice for me since the cement of my career plans is not yet dry. I do know, however, that physics will be in my future.
