Background:

"I was born in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico. My mother was born in Sombrerete, Zacatecas, Mexico and raised in Ensenada and my father was born and raised in Rochester, New York. Ihave grown up in the border town of San Diego, California. Over my lifetime I have experienced the wondrous reality of being a part of two cultures. I am fluent in both Spanish and English, and am able to partake in a whole other dimension of these cultures. I went to elementary school at Hamilton Elementary, middle school and Monroe Clark Middle and high school at High Tech High. Over the past couple of years I have had the opportunity to take a number of courses at the local community colleges of the San Diego Community College District. Having now graduated from high school, I am to embark on a new adventure as I attend college at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. I am to study physics, a science I have come to enjoy because of its use of mathematics and the way it allows us not only to describe the world, but also to manipulate it to our benefit. Albeit, we definitely have to be careful with what we do."
