Dana Lewis

Background:

I am 19 years old and currently a sophomore at Louisiana State University. My area of concentration is Medical Physics. I have hopes of starting clinicals and doing cancer research to find a cure. I currently work as a technical assistant at LSU's Radiation Safety Office. My duties include doing radiation surveys in many labs around campus, analyzing samples from theses labs, and making sure all rules regarding radiation and its storage are followed by all lab technicians and supervisors. I'm very proud to say that I made the Dean's List both semesters of my freshman year, and I made the Chancellor's Honor Roll my second semester because of my 4.0 GPA. This year, I will begin my first year as a member of LSU's honor society Gamma Beta Phi. I will also be starting more of my concentrated physics classes such as modern physics and quantum mechanics, which is very exciting. I hope that next Summer I will be accepted into a research program that will give me the experience of what I have to look forward to after graduation.
