My name is Gilbert R. Lee IV and I am originally from Texas. Science has always been a subject of key interest to me. I first became interested in science by reading books on space travel when I was in elementary school. My original goal was to become an aeronautical engineer, however this changed during the second semester of my sophomore year in high school when I took both Chemistry and Physics. Taking these two subjects forced me to focus on the material in each subject. This experience led to my decision to become a research scientist. Of all the science classes I had taken up to that point, physics was the subject I enjoyed the most. My interest in physics continued to grow through additional physics classes and participation in math and science competitions. I currently attend Yale University, where I am a sophomore physics major. After graduating from Yale, I plan to earn a Ph.D. in physics and to work as both a professor and researcher.
