Tyeisha Hughes

Tyeisha Hughes

Background:

My name is Tyeisha L. Hughes, and I am from East Orange, New Jersey. I am currently enrolled in Spelman College where I major in physics and minor in mathematics. Two years ago I would have never believed I would be majoring in physics; however, after my research experiences and AP physics I have gained quite an interest in the physics area. As for my future career, I plan to be an imaging technician, focusing mainly on magnetic resonance imaging, because I have a great interest in medicine. Throughout the years I have grown quite comfortable with the medical environment via my volunteer experiences, while discovering my talent for working one-on-one with people. So, this along with my interest in physics, I believe that becoming a medical imaging technician would be the best career choice for me. Another advantage to majoring in physics is that this subject area opens up a wide variety of interesting career choices. Therefore, if my interests ever stray away from medicine, I still have many career opportunities to choose from, (i.e. telecommunications, graphics designing, law.) All-in-all, each day my love for physics grows stronger and my mind becomes more developed scientifically. Though I may still be open to new career choices, there is no doubt that my ultimate career choice will be physics related.
