Iris Gray
Louisiana State University

My name is Iris Gray, and I was born and raised in Stone Mountain, GA, where I attended Stephenson High School. I had an amazing physics teacher, who always reminded me that I am the key to my success. My interest in physics began when I started playing with lasers. The usage of lasers has progressed significantly over the years, but I have always wondered how a small beam of light can have the ability to cut through glass, perform surgery, or become a use of entertainment.  I will be a freshman at Louisiana State University and want to major in Physics, with a concentration in Medical Physics. I’m not sure if I will do research or go into the clinical field, but anything involving radiation will suffice.
