Background:

My name is Kendall Cole from Lufkin, Texas and I attend the University of Texas at Austin. I originally became intrigued in math and science as a kid through my picture books of the stars and galaxies. I loved the fact whenever I looked into the night sky at the stars I was gazing years into the past, or even the fact that these stellar objects are trillions of miles away, yet observable to the naked eye. As I grew, these interests matured into more specific questions, like what process gave the stars their light or how something like the gravity of a black hole could even trap light itself. This interest in what scientists knew so much but yet so little about, is what led me to physics. Physics allows me to see the world not only for what it is but of the number and equations that determine it, and the challenges and discoveries yet to be made in it, drive me to push towards and exceed my limitations.
