Background:

I was born in Michoacán, Mexico and at the age of two came to live in Southern California. Since I was a young boy, I have been fascinated with the world around me. My father instilled in me an insatiable curiosity to know why things happened the way they do, and as I've grown, I've only become more curious and added more questions about the universe to my list. I see the study of physics as the path to understanding the mysteries of the universe and solving the problems that face humanity today. The most prominent problem that I want to focus on is the energy crisis. With humankind becoming more and more dependent on devices, a clean, safe, and sustainable source of energy is needed to power the technology of tomorrow. I will be attending the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where along with a major in Physics, I plan to pursue a minor in Energy Studies.
