Until my senior year, many of my classes blurred together. They never demanded too much of me, so I did not put much thought into them. That feeling changed when I started my first physics class. I couldn’t just sit back and study mindlessly for physics like the rest of my classes. I had to work for understanding, and I found myself actually wanting to understand for the first time. So, when I journeyed the ninety-two miles from Montgomery, Alabama, to Samford, I knew exactly what I was going to do; I declared physics as my major.
