Sebastian Gomez
The University of Texas at El Paso

My name is Sebastian Gomez and I have lived in the border city of Ciudad Juarez, Mexico all my life until last year when I moved to El Paso, Texas to pursue a physics degree from The University of Texas at El Paso. My passion for physics began in high school, where I discovered how broad and fascinating physics is. However, at the moment, I find myself drawn to the field of astrophysics because I believe it is a beautiful subject that has so much material yet to be discovered. I will begin doing research on interacting binary stars systems during this summer, and my goal is to eventually earn a PhD in physics or astrophysics.
