Monique Cook

Background:

As a native of Alabama, I am the daughter of Clarence and Brenda Cook. Currently, I attend Fisk University in Nashville, TN seeking a BS degree in physics. In the spring semester, I will be attending the University of Alabama at Birmingham. I will continue my physics education in biophysics and biofluids. The career goals I have placed on myself are after graduating with two BS degrees in Physics and Biomedical engineering; I plan to continue on to graduate school, hopefully John Hopkins or the University of Washington for a Masters in Biomedical Engineering. After those years of commitment to education I would like to work for a leading laboratory or company, preferably in the area of high blood pressure or hypertension research. Other goals include having a family, and being a councilwoman in my city. While in practice, I will seek a Ph.D. which will allow me to teach and help others until retirement.
