My name is Matthew Ornelas-Kuh and I am a high school graduate from Palm Desert, California. This fall, I will be pursuing an undergraduate degree in physics at the California Institute of Technology. I chose to study physics because it not only describes and dictates the very workings of our universe, but physics is also where I see the perfect combination of math and science.
To understand physics is, I believe, catch a glimpse of the mind of God. To this end, not only did I take high school physics, but I also took calculus-based physics at my local community college. However, physics is not all that captures my interest. I also have a passion for the piano, one that I have continued to satisfy for eleven years. I consider myself athletic, as well; I enjoy swimming, water polo, and tennis.
