Background:

With the support of the American Physical Society, I have excelled in all of the courses I undertook in the past year. My junior year consisted of two-semester courses in electrodynamics, quantum mechanics, real analysis, and topology. These topics are the foundations of modern physics and mathematics, and they have enhanced both my breadth of knowledge and capacity for logical thought. The crucial aspect of the societys support of my education is the relieved burden from financial obligations that are an inherent part of being a university student. In addition to my studies, I have been performing research with Dr. Joshua Gundersen in cosmology and will continue doing so throughout the summer of 2006 and beyond.
